I have lived more in my thirties than in my whole life before them.

Today we celebrate the life, talent, and strength of my friend Eva Hart on her 39th birthday. With admiration and love, we are honored and proud to share her story in her own words.

Today I turn 39. I have lived more in my thirties than in my whole life before them.

Gave birth to my second son. Later, lost the 40 pounds that gained with his pregnancy.

Learned how to surf

 

3 Beginning New Life
Divorced. Began a new life.

Became a single mother. A family of three.

 

5 CatchingUpWithSocial
Got to catch up with social life (and a lot of dating I didn’t do before getting married)

 

6 Miami
Started a spiritual journey with meditation and yoga. Moved to a new country with my sons.

 

7 LOVE
Reconnected with the love of my life

Restarted my business from scratch in a new country

 

9 Video&Direction
Became a filmmaker. Worked on my introversion.

 

10 Dupla
Founded Dupla. Learned how to network and hustle in a new language.

Went back to basics

Learned to set boundaries. Realized I can’t make everybody happy. Learned to put myself first. Learned to say no. Learned to be transparent.

About Eva Hart:

Eva Hart is a filmmaker and photographer with more than 15 years of experience as a director and photographer in the advertising and fashion worlds. She has worked for national and international brands and publications in the Dominican Republic and United States. MS. Hart is a graduate of IDEP BARCELONA, a professional school for Graphic Design, Fashion and Photography. In 2012 Ms. Hart successfully transitioned into film and has been working as a director and cinematographer for music videos, shorts, TV commercials and documentaries. She co-produced an episode of NHAP Zoom featuring Laura Gómez of Orange is the New Black. She also created DOBEDO Miami, a documentary series of inspiring Miami residents. Miami Beach is home, and she travels regularly between Miami, New York and Santo Domingo for shoots, commercial projects, and private commissions.
